Ahok Wants ERP Technology of Singapore to Be Applied in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama wants the technology of electronic road pricing (ERP) that will be applied would be as same as in Singapore.

But simply for me, what's the latest technology used by Singapore and what's the technology heading to

Ahok claimed he has instructed Transportation Department to imitate the application from the country. According to him, Singapore is a small country which is able to create efficient and effective technologies, thus it has minimal mistakes.

"There are some problems, strange reports, someone said they start crossing out, direct specification unlike Singapore whereas my direction is completely clear," said Ahok at City Hall, Tuesday (8/4).

No matter technologies applied in Singapore, he will still imitate it. The ERP is expected could be applied in the city immediately. As the system is one of the ways to handle traffic congestion.

"I don't know which technology truer or better. But simply for me, what's the latest technology used by Singapore and what's the technology heading to. If it heads to the new ones, i want to imitate it," he expressed.

In Jakarta, the ERP is being tested in two locations, that is on Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Rasuna Said. It is tested by 2 different companies. On Jalan Sudirman tested by Kapsch, while on Jalan Rasuna Said by Q-free.
